Short Description | Tired of game modules? Join TT2KB - Tabletop 2 Keyboard as we teach how to build your own adventures. We present a writer angle on character and story. Don't do Module Homework, make your own world! |
Long Description | This will be a presentation with open questions from the audience regarding how to write and run an original D&D game. In essence, it is a seminar on collaborative improvisation combined with storytelling. We will cover some rules, but we will not make rules the focus. The design is for this to assist anyone attempting to run a game, regardless of game system. Our gaming group has never used modules and as such focus heavily on collaborative creation of character and story. We'll all be present to bring both sides of the process to light. My side as DM will focus on structuring in advance. My players will discuss reaction to story. Then I'll follow up with how a DM needs to listen and adjust to encourage player choice. This play style is exhibited constantly on Critical Role by Matt Mercer. I hope to inform DMs how to build a similar style that supports player freedom. |
