Long DescriptionIn 2017, Monroe County Public Library made a dedicated effort to start adult gaming programs as a way to help retain teens and to reach adults who had stopped using the library. Reaching out to their local game store, The Game Preserve, as well as local bars, they created regular gaming program throughout the community that have become popular events for adult gamers, especially for those in the 18-45 age range. This presentation will go over how to: create similar programs; how to pitch gaming programs to library administration; how to create community partnerships; and what to do when things go really really wrong.
