| Long Description | Many would-be gamemasters are dissuaded from even trying to run a game by the idea that they will disappoint their friends, freeze up in the moment, or similar concerns. We've successfully run a hands-on "GM 101" workshop at Gen Con and other cons to walk participants through prepping a scenario and running it for each other, round robin fashion, with dedicated "GM coaches" providing feedback on their use of the Describe-Listen-Judge cycle of GMing. We'll describe the gamified pedagogy of GM 101, assess its effectiveness, and walk attendees through segments of the workshop. |
