Short Description | A geopolitical strategy game set in the modern world where major powers pursue their own unique objectives with the "help" of the non-major powers. |
Long Description | Imperialists were jerks. Their land-grabbing, indigenous people-exploiting, environment-degrading antics have been documented in detail. Nobody does that anymore, right? Actually, they do. They just hide it a little better. Now, we have Neoimperialists. Neoimperialism is a 3-5-player, 90-150-minute, geopolitical strategy game set in the modern world. Each player is one of the major powers (MPs), The United States, Western Europe, China, India, and Russia. MPs pursue unique (and variable from game-to-game) objectives to gain victory through some combination of world citizenship, domestic satisfaction, power, and prestige. Using influence, protection, and occasionally invasion, MPs seek to leave their own special mark on the globe. Players make and break alliances with other MPs, deal with global and local beneficial or catastrophic events, and of course seek to avoid nuclear Armageddon. |
