| Long Description | The Russian nuclear submarine Kursk sank on August 12, 2000 in the Barents Sea, with the loss of all 118 personnel on board. Lecture will examine the nature of the submarine class, history, and details of the accident 25 years ago and its aftermath. Presented by Capt. Mark McDonagh, USN/ret., physicist and former nuclear submarine officer with 12 years' experience at the Naval War College, on the National Security Decision Making Game staff. |
