Ever since the evil faerie hunter Karnov started hunting and capturing their kind in the wild, magical creatures have moved into cities and adapted to better blend into the busy and dangerous landscape of urban life. Leprechauns are now Leprecon-Artists, Hobgoblins are Snobgoblins, Mermen are Mermons, Changelings are Spare-Changelings, and House Brownies are House Lefties.
