| Short Description | In order to test the fledgling Legion, the UP dispatches them to the planet Vyrga. The mission is to investigate a mysterious illness that infects people before it devastates the population. |
| Long Description | The United Planets seeks to bring the Vyrga system into its fold. As the system has vast deposits of the stable element, Stellarium, the mission is considered vital. Stellarium is required to maintain the stability of RJ Brande’s star drives. At his urging, the young Legion of Super-Heroes is sent to the planet to investigate a plague on the verge of devastating the populace. If a cure can be found, the UP President is convinced the planet will join the United Planets, but she is skeptical of the Legion’s ability to achieve the mission. Only upon Brande’s insistence is the inexperienced Legion dispatched. |
