Short DescriptionAnimals are common in RPGs. Learn how to make your world more immersive with real-life behavior, ecology, and history of our interactions with animals. Taught by a professional natural historian.
Long DescriptionDo you want your dungeon ecosystem to make more sense? Did using Speak with Animals in Baldur’s Gate 3 have you wanting to voice your own animal NPCs? Writing a horror campaign and want some inspiration from disturbing animal facts? Or maybe you’re a history fan who wants the use of animals in your history-themed setting to be more authentic? This seminar will help you think about all of that! Learn about subjects such as animal behavior, ecology, and animal-human interactions through time. There will be time at the end to ask questions, be they general or a specific idea you’re workshopping. The teacher of this seminar is a paleontologist and naturalist with an avocational interest in pre-modern history. They have 15 years of experience working with natural history collections and teaching others about nature, and have done pastoral persona research in the SCA.
