Short DescriptionThis workshop will provide a guide for internationalizing gaming projects that aid players in expanding their global competency and on the use of board games as pedagogical tools for educators.
Long DescriptionThis event will be a workshop on the connection of board games to global learning outcomes as an important measure of engaging with players across various forms of tabletop games. In doing so, we will provide attendees with a framework for internationalizing their work in game design that will aid players in expanding their global competency and highlighting the use of board games in library collections for expanding international content and programming. The workshop will further explore how educators can engage more frequently with board games as a pedagogical tool for global learning, and how game designers can utilize more educational materials to make player experiences of international learning more impactful.
