Short DescriptionLearn how to bring chess to your students with National Chess Master (and former teacher) Adam Weissbarth. Adam’s organization has taught chess to over 150,000 children in its 20 year history.
Long DescriptionWant to bring the game of chess to your students? Chess is a fantastic game for students. It grows their critical thinking and problem solving abilities, all while teaching them the importance of sportsmanship. However, many educators are afraid to start a chess club if they are not experienced chessplayers. This session will teach you how to overcome this obstacle and bring the benefits of chess to your student population. If you can teach social studies, you can teach chess! Learn how Adam’s organization has brought the joy of chess to over 150,000 students. He will discuss how to successfully run a chess club at your school or organization. This session will include a Q&A session at the end.
